The City Rivals

Football is an interesting game. The soccer rivalries are the salt and pepper in the football histories. One of the most common rivalries is the domestic opponents. In the soccer world many cities are divided by the love or hate for the domestic teams. Between the biggest football matches are the domestic derbies.
England as a cradle of the game has many memorable city clashes. Liverpool has two vigorous opponents- Everton and Liverpool football club. Manchester is back on the football map with one of the most intriguing clashes this year- Manchester United vs. Manchester City. London has the most domestic opponents, such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Fulham and QPR. The best clashes between the London teams are between Arsenal and Tottenham. The fans still remember the title that `gunners` won few years ago on the pitch of White Hart Lane. Totenham came back to destroy couple of years ago the Arsenal hopes for a title right at their stadium.
Fulham and QPR always play well at their home stadiums and this could be a problem for the domestic teams. Playing in front of the home crowd could be a plus for any team, but when the game is with the domestic rival, the result is matter of pride. The teams from the biggest cities of England are always in the spotlight of the cameras and in the news. This year`s tournament is promising more exciting battles. A lot of money has been invested in the English Premier League clubs and thus brought many talented players to the Albion. Teams with less popularity and modest football history, such as Manchester City, have become leaders in the transfer market. Manchester City has the money, which is the most important matter in the modern football.
